Genealogy
  • Ancestry Online (In Library Use Only) - Locating family genealogy becomes much easier with this helpful resource. It provides access to four billion names from over 4,000 databases. Information included here has been pulled from the U.S. Federal census, UK and Ireland census, Canadian birth, marriage and death records, military records, immigration, biography, history and mapcenter collections.
  • Explore Ohio - This ia an ever-expanding directory of Ohio-specific web sites and links.
  • HeritageQuest (ProQuest) - This database provides access to more than 22,000 family and local history books. Also included are the U.S. Federal census records for 1790-1930, articles from more than 6,500 genealogy and local history periodicals, Freedman's Bank records and U.S. Serial Set which contains information of people and places pertinent to congressional action sought during 1789-1969.
  • Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps - Here you will find large scale street plans – including building outlines, property boundaries, and building use - produced by the Sanborn Fire Insurance Company from 1867 to 1970.
